Q. WHAT IS HYPNOSIS?

A. There are many misconceptions about hypnosis. Most importantly, hypnosis is not mind-control. In fact, all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.  As hypnotists, our job is to be a guide to help people find this state and to accomplish more than they can on their own. Hypnosis has been given many different definitions. In its essence it is a state of heightened suggestibility, and may or may not have an accompanying state of relaxation. 

Q. CAN A PERSON GET 'STUCK' IN HYPNOSIS?

A. No, a person cannot get 'stuck' in hypnosis. Remember that all hypnosis is actually self-hypnosis. A person who is hypnotized retains full control and can actually stop the experience at any time if they choose to do so.

Q. WHAT DOES HYPNOSIS FEEL LIKE?

A.There is no "feeling" associated with being in hypnosis. Some people report feeling very heavy, while others report feeling very light. Others report not feeling either of these. Some people report feeling a slight tingling sensation, while others experience a sense of numbness. Again, others report feeling very normal in every way. However, there are many indicators of hypnosis that the trained hypnotists observes as they work with the client which indicates that the client is in a stage of heightened suggestibility. 

Q. CAN I BE HYPNOTIZED?

A. Many people question whether they can be hypnotized. It was once thought that only about 20% of the population was hypnotizable. We now know that almost anyone of normal intelligence can be hypnotized. Unfortunately many hypnotists are not adequately trained or still use antiquated techniques which reduce their effectiveness. A qualified hypnotist will be able to use many different techniques to help you accomplish your goals. 

Q. HOW DO I FIND A QUALIFIED HYPNOTIST?

A. A great place to start is with the National Guild of Hypnotists. They have a referral service and can send you information on certified hypnotists in your area.

A. We are available to work with many different issues. We are located in Ada, Oklahoma and are available to help people in the surrounding area, including Norman, Shawnee, Tecumseh, Seminole, Pauls Valley, Chickasha, and any other town within driving distance. We also conduct Stage Shows all over Oklahoma and Texas, and are available to go to Arkansas, Kansas, and parts of Missouri.
